With the evolution and rise of media content sharing platforms and people consuming media content like audio and video more than ever before, most people often ask, is blogging dead now? What’s the future of blogging?
In fact, a person recently asked in a Facebook group, “I want to know if there is still any chance to make it big in Blogging?” - and this caught my attention instantly.
The problem is not in the question, the problem is in the intention.
Hey digital learners, welcome back to another episode. I’m your host Rahul from LearnDigitalwithRahul.com and you may find me everywhere online with the user handle @LearnDigitalwithRahul.
Whether you are a complete beginner who knows nothing about blogging, or someone who already knows but ever asked yourself about the future of blogging, then this episode is for you. Because in this episode we’ll discuss what is blogging and what’s the future of blogging.
So let’s get started! And first, learn what is blogging?
Blogging is a fun way to express yourself, your views and opinions about anything. Thus, sharing your knowledge and expertise with the world in an effective way via the medium of a blog.
Well, many people define blogging differently. But for me, Blogging is all about having fun while exploring ideas, educating myself, and sharing my knowledge with the world. And the money I make from blogging, or any other form of profitability from Blogging is just a byproduct.
And this is something I have already discussed in my 7-days free blogging mastery course.
Alright! Now that you know what blogging is, let’s learn why you should blog.
Well, there is no right or wrong answer for why you should start a blog, and many people start blogging for all kinds of reasons.
But let me point out some of the reasons you might want to think about when starting a blog.
1. To Have Fun while Blogging
If you are like me, you might have a fond of reading blog posts on other blogs, commenting on their blog posts, and finding new people to talk to, or even writing for fun. That’s what blogging may provide.
Blogging is a fun hobby and online business to have - regardless of the subject you are writing about.
Unlike other businesses or jobs where you are a slave of your boss, Blogging provides you complete freedom to work from anywhere, anytime, and without depending upon anything.
You may travel around the world, and have fun while blogging.
2. To Learn and Educate Others
Blogging is a great way to learn from others and educate yourself because when you are a blogger, you learn something new every day.
Learning some new skills every day is the biggest advantage of blogging - something you'll rarely find in any other profession.
And, Blogging not only helps you learn and educate yourself, but also others. Because no matter what type of blog you have, your job is to help others.
Once you publish a blog post, it'll be live all around the globe and people can easily learn from you.
Thus, by sharing your knowledge you are basically doing a great deed in the world for a noble cause.
3. To Make Amazing Connections
I don't know whether you are aware of this, but let me tell you a secret.
People who blog are amazing people. Bloggers live in and form an amazing community of bloggers. They help each other grow and win.
I myself have made connections with many amazing people as a blogger which I would have never been able to if I were in any other profession.
4. To Get Your Voice Heard
People love to read blogs because they love to know your views and opinions about a particular subject.
When you write a blog post and millions of people read it, there can not be a better feeling than having a huge following and a large number of people becoming a fan of yours.
5. To Build Highly Profitable Business
I believe you already know this. But despite that, I have to include this as a reason to start a blog.
Blogging can be a great way to improve the business you already have, or to create a business all on its own.
I started blogging as a passion, but soon it became a dream profession for me. In the past few years, I have made over $120k from Google AdSense alone.
Needless to say, starting a blog is the best thing ever happened in my life. And, I'm not alone. I know several successful bloggers and they all say the same thing, that blogging is the best thing that has ever happened to them. And I totally agree with them.
Now that you know the various strong reasons to start a blog, you must be wondering, is it really worth starting a blog? Because many people talk about the future of blogging.
Is it true that blogging will be dead soon? Are there still any chances of making it really big with blogging this year?
Well, the problem is not with this question, but the problem is in the intention with which this question is being asked. The person asking this question is more concerned about the profitability and less concerned about the other achievements blogging might bring.
The fact is: blogging is not going away and it is not going to be dead anytime soon. Because as long as people with amazing reading and writing hobbies exist on this planet, Blogging will not die.
But, if you go into blogging with a money-making mindset only, you’ll find it tough to survive in the huge ocean of blogging.
Because you are more concerned about making money from your blog while less concerned about using your blog as a tool to achieve other benefits.
So, my suggestion would be: Use blogging as a platform to learn and implement new skills (such as marketing, networking, SEO, copywriting, etc.)
Once you learn these skills, making huge money from blogging or any other method is just a matter of time.
Because that’s the way blogging works. Therefore, consider blogging as a tool to learn new things, hone your skills and share your knowledge or expertise with others while building a strong personal brand as well as meaningful connections.
Once you follow this basic ethic, not only you’ll be able to build a strong blog with huge profitability but also you’ll have the required skills and ingredients to repeat your success.
